Rests in Rhythmic Notation

Rests(silence) in music carry the same importance as notes. Rests are also counted like notes. Each note value has a corresponding rest:
If you are using a metronome, the beat is set at 60 per quarter note.
EXAMPLES
The quarter rest has the same value as a quarter note.

The eighth rest has the same value as an eighth note.

The half rest has the same value as a half note.

The whole rest has the same value as a whole note.
