Rests (Examples)
Rests (silence) in music carry the same importance as notes.
Rests are also counted like notes.
Each note value has a corresponding rest:
The quarter rest has the same value as a quarter note.
The eighth rest has the same value as an eighth note.
The half rest has the same value as a half note.
The whole rest has the same value as a whole note.
