Learning notes is actually pretty easy, it just takes a lot of repetition in order to memorize.
Take some time each day to practice and give yourself a minimum of 2 months to learn the basic notes on the 1st three (3) frets on all 6 strings.

When you get to the low A & E-Strings we have to use ledger lines to write the notes. Think of them as little helper lines. It is easy to mistake the low G (2 ledger lines) with the low E-string (3 ledger lines). But again just keep practicing and you will get it.
