Hand Positions

When positioning your fingers it is very important to place them as close as possible to the frets.

Not on the frets but directly in front of them. You want to press down on the strings with your finger tips to avoid touching the other strings.

Your thumb is extremely important to support your left hand. It should be positioned flat against the neck of the guitar.

If your thumb hangs over the neck it really does not serve any purpose.
